"King Pearl®" EPS contains pentane as blowing agent.The presence of pentane vapor in expandable polystyrene beads is a potential fire hazard.Pentane vapor is heavier than air and can form explosive moisture with air.Flammable concentration of vapor may occur when opening a closed container.Incase of fire,any common fire extinguishers may be used.Howerver,only carbon dioxide and dry powder extinguishers are to be used in area of hard wire cutting equipment. |

The product presents no toxic hazards to skins;however,excessive exposure should be avoided.During storage of "King Pearl" EPS,the blowing agent present in the unexpanded beds is liberated very slowly.This agent is an aliphatic hydrocarbon and consequently has a low toxicity.It is harmful if swallowed. |
SETION ¢÷ PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE |
|
All possible sources of ignition must be eliminated and adequate ventilation must be provided in storage and processing areas.The conveyance of raw beads can build up electrostatic charges and to reduce the possibility of discharge leading to ignition,all conveying lines must be electrically conductive,bonded and grounded. |
